TRADESHOW EVENTS

Here are some of next weeks trade show parties. I'm sure their are plenty more so I'll try to add them on as i read about them.

MISHKA EP

After successfully creating their 1st flagship store in NYC, Mishka has decided to open in Los Angeles too. The store will be located along oh so hip Echo Park Blvd, near Chango, Delilah's, a handful of art galleries and other trendy retail shops. What to expect? More street parties, art shows, and too cool for school east side hipsters to look at in passing. Yay for Echo Park! The store is scheduled to open on February 20th @ 1547 Echo Park Ave. /LINK

HAMILTON WOOD TYPE

The Hamilton Manufacturing Co. has a large collection of the first wood types made in the United States. In 1900 the Hamilton’s Catalogue No. 14 was issued. The Catalogue offers a great display of some of the 1.5 million pieces of wood type in the collection. The online collection of scans is a terrific resource for any designer. /LINK

UNHAPPY HIPSTERS

A friend sent me a link to this site, and i like it. /LINK

THE "X" COMET COMETH

This is kind of already old news, but so cool. Hubble discovered what they believe to be an "x" shaped trail left by two colliding comets, but the truth is.....they actually have no idea. Nothing like this has ever been captured while studying comets. ever! so.....maybe its something else moving 11,000 mph through space. any ideas? /LINK

YUKON BLONDE

With the ever growing popularity of Folk Rock revival, Yukon Blonde is a nice addition. With sounds similar to Fleet Foxes and Local Natives I'm very excited to keep my ears on this band throughout 2010. /LINK /LISTEN

MIND TRIP

I really enjoyed viewing this interactive fashion magazine (?) The use of color and collage are very inspirational. Go take a trip! /LINK

MARTIN GREENFIELD

When i was working at Sean John getting coffee's and running errands i was lucky enough to one day have the chance to pick up some garments from Martin Greenfield. I not only got to meet him, but he took the time to show me around and tell me about his career. I must say i was impressed. Selby recently took a tour of his factory and seeing the images brought back a rush of memories. Take the tour yourself here. /LINK
