DRIVE



I loved this movie! Possibly the best I have seen so far in 2011. It's slow, dark, isolated, romantic, and at times, hyper-violent. The cinematography is beautiful. It reminded me of a Michael Mann film, but still was able to keep it's own identity.  It's everything I want in a movie.  It also has a fantastic soundtrack. Here's a little preview below.

RATTLESNAKE




1 ½ oz blended whiskey
1 tsp lemon juice
¼ tsp absinthe (or anis flavored liqueur)
½ tsp simple syrup (or powdered sugar)
1 egg white

Combine all ingredients with ice and shake vigorously in a cocktail shaker. Strain into a cocktail glass, and serve. Thanks to /SAVEUR for the recipe!

BACONJAM








What is bacon jam? Well, they take a big bunch of really, really good bacon and render it down...add a bunch of spices, onions, etc. and let it simmer for about 6 hours, give it a quick puree, blast chill it...take a left turn, and end up in pure bacon heaven. find out all the details Here. /LINK
